Overview

Dhulikhel is situated at 30 km east to Kathmandu all along the Kathmandu -Arniko Highway which is famous for its pleasing beauty and practice. Located at an elevation of 1550m above sea level from Dhulikhel we can view fantastic vistas of snow covered peaks. From here, we can witness panoramic sight of the snow-white ranges of Langtang, Annapurna range, Gaurishankar and many more. Dhulikhel is regarded as the capital of Kavrepalanchok district which is also known as the ancient trading hub between Nepal and Tibet. In the past days, Nepalis travelled to Tibet from here to bring gold and salt. Also, Tibetans entered from here each year with the herd of sheep in Dashain and when returning back the carry chilies and different other items for daily use.
Dhulikhel has in fact turned out to be the ideal place to stay for the night if you are going to visit Tibet. With the beautiful snow-covered peaks at the background Dhulikhel bestows views of natural beauty with idyllic green hills, wonderful natural terraces which offers any visitor with the divine satisfaction. Along with the natural beauty Dhulikhel has got many temples showing the typical traditional Newari craftsmanship. The hub of Dhulikhel has extraordinary contracted smooth paths all along which temples are set in like Narayan Temple, Bhagwati temple, Gaukhureshwor Mahadev Temple, Harisiddhi Temple etc.
